A nut-and-seed based halwa made from almonds, pine nuts, pumpkin and poppy seeds cooked in sugar syrup.
Maghz-i-Badam Shireen (almond) 200 g; Maghz-i-Chilghoza (pine nut) 50 g; Maghz-i-Tukhm-i-Kadu (pumpkin kernel) 50 g; Tukhm-i-Khashkhash (poppy seeds) 50 g; Maghz-i-Chironji (almondette seeds) 50 g; Qand Safed (sugar) 1.5 kg; Araq Gulab (rose water) 100 mL
Grind nuts and kernels in water to obtain a milky liquid (Sheera). Boil sugar with rose water and plain water on medium flame till it forms a concentrated syrup (Qiwam). Add the Sheera and cook a few minutes till the water content evaporates completely. Spread the thick halwa on a flat utensil, cut into pieces and preserve after cooling. Serving: 20-40 g along with milk.
Highly beneficial for persons of cold temperament; good for brain and heart and enhances sperm count. Recommended in winter season. Note: Not recommended for diabetic patients.
